To my greatest surprise a cyclodextrin-related blog post may be found on the Bundeskanzlerin’s website. Angela Merkel awarded two young chemists elaborating a cyclodextrin-containing mouthwash which was found efficient against oral malodour after garlic consumption.
What a great idea, even that this is basically a re-invention of Yayima Mizuo’s work (Asama Kasei KK) from 1979 which resulted in a successful patent filed in five countries.
Nevertheless, it is great to know that the German Chancellor may also be well aware of the great potential of cyclodextrins and was reported on her blog.
