Innovative oral care products containing beta-cyclodextrin and menthol

Osaka, Japan-based OKINA company introduced a medicated mouthwash containing beta-cyclodextrin and menthol marketed under brand name Long Spin ZEROR, which is an alcohol-free alternative of their traditional ethanol-containing product Long Spin XR . The peculiarity of the product is the small volume packaging (10 or 14 mL) and single use feature making it easily distributed in hotels, restaurants and dental clinics and/or carried for discrete personal use even in a small handbag.

The following effects are claimed by the producer: preventing bad breath, cleaning the mouth, refreshing the mouth, preventing gingival inflammation, preventing the development and progression of dental caries and whitening teeth (by brushing).

Australian Hismile company’s PAP+ Whitening Powder™ allows turning any toothpaste into a whitening toothpaste. The product transforms existing favourite toothpaste into an effective, daily whitening treatment, that effectively oxidises stains.

PAP+ contains phthalimidoperoxycaproic acid (a safe alternative to peroxide), nano-hydroxyapatite (the main component of teeth), potassium citrate (a desensitising agent that helps to relieve pre-existing sensitivity), mint aroma and beta-cyclodextrin.
