Cyclodextrin and its derivatives for the structural regulation of epoxy resins: Chemistry, mechanisms, and emerging applications

Posted by

This paper provides a comprehensive review of the research progress on cyclodextrin and polycarbonate in epoxi resin matrix materials. Specifically, it focuses on literature published from 2014 to 2025 to capture the most significant advancements over the past decade. Relevant studies were identified through systematic searches of major databases.

This review systematically covers fundamental properties, assembly strategies within epoxi resin systems, and specific applications in mechanical reinforcement, flame retardancy, and self-healing. Finally, the review analyzes existing challenges and outlines future development directions, aiming to provide novel insights and theoretical foundations for achieving high performance and multifunctional integration in epoxy resin-based materials.
