Up to 12 fully funded PhD positions have been offered to highly motivated and talented researchers at the Cologne Graduate School of Ageing Research (CGA) in Germany. The structured Ph.D. training program within a cutting-edge research environment will start on an individual basis between July 1 and October 1, 2024 in an outstanding international research environment at one of the most prestigious ageing research clusters in Europe.
A post-doctoral position is open in the lab of Prof. Nociari in Department of Ophthalmology, at Cornell University-Weill Medical College. Applications are welcome from highly motivated individuals with a PhD degree in Biochemistry or related areas, interested in basic and translational research on age-related macular degeneration. The specific goals of my lab are (i) to identify the signaling cascades and cellular clearance processes induced by cyclodextrins (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24706818); (ii) to test different cyclodextrin nanoparticle preparations in cell culture and mice models, using quantitative microscopy , HPLC and quantitative high-throughput assays, currently under development; (iiii) characterize the synergistic effect of modulators of lysosomal biogenesis and autophagy inducers in the cyclodextrin-mediated clearance process.
