- The 18th in the world ranking in chemistry and 13th in the US is J. Fraser Stoddart (D-index 178, publications: 1,231 and citations: 126,775) with 98 publications related to CDs (Scopus)
- The 46th in the world ranking in chemistry and 33rd in the US is Nicolas A. Peppas (D-index 156, publications: 828 and citations: 117,500) with 3 publications related to CDs (Scopus).
- The 60th in the world ranking in chemistry and 2nd in France is Jean-Marie Lehn (D-index 152, publications: 1,006 and citations: 117,394) with 15 publications related to CDs (Scopus)
The ranking is based on D-index (Discipline H-index) metric, which only includes papers and citation values for an examined discipline. The ranking includes only leading scientists with D-index of at least 40 for academic publications made in the area of Chemistry.
