According to the Cyclodextrin News Library Database, the first description of the paracetamol (acetaminophen)–beta-cyclodextrin complex, published in 1980, is partly associated with a research group working in a laboratory that later became Cyclolab Ltd. [1].

Since the first public note on this complex, beta-cyclodextrin formulated paracetamol (alone or in combination with other APIs) has stood out for its versatility, being used in a wide range of pharmaceutical forms like no other. In the following tables and figures, this diversity is illustrated with a long list of approved dosage forms.
