β-Cyclodextrin-Complexed 1,8-Cineole Attenuates Motor Deficits and Preserves Tyrosine Hydroxylase Immunoreactivity in a Reserpine-Induced Mouse Model of Parkinsonism

Researchers from Brazil 🇧🇷 tested βCD-complexed 1,8-cineole (Eucalyptol) in mice with Parkinson-like symptoms. Daily treatment reduced tremors and other movement problems, improved sensorimotor performance, and preserved tyrosine hydroxylase, a marker of dopamine-producing neurons, in two brain regions involved in movement. The findings suggest this CD formulation may help protect dopamine-related function in this mouse model.
