According to data from China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), Shandong Binzhou Zhiyuan Biotechnology Co., Ltd. successfully filed β-Cyclodextrin/Epichlorohydrin Crosspolymer as a new cosmetic ingredient on 8 August 2025 [1]. The corresponding technical specifications have not yet been disclosed.

In Europe, a crosslinked cyclodextrin has previously been registered in the European Commission’s “CosIng – Cosmetics Ingredients” database under the INCI name Cyclodextrin Crosspolymer. Unlike the epichlorohydrin-crosslinked variant, this polymer is produced by crosslinking β-cyclodextrin with 2-acryloyloxyethyl isocyanate and photo-initiated by 2-hydroxy-4′-hydroxyethoxy-2-methylpropiophenone [2]. MDSUN U.S.A.’s Brightener Serum contains this polymer in addition to native β-cyclodextrin [3].
