Since the last review in the Cyclodextrin News summarizing the anti aging effects of retinol (Vitamin A) and its derivatives, tocopherol (Vitamin E) and ubiquinone (Vitamin Q10) solubilized/stabilized by CDs the following trends were highlighted in the literature:
- Improving skin penetration of hyaluronic acid (anti-wrinkle compound) by using quaternized cyclodextrin grafted chitosan [1]
- Promoting skin permeation of isoflavones such as formononetin by HPBCD [2]
- Solubilizing/stabilizing epidermal growth factor (EGF) and vitamin E acetate in liposome formulation [3]
- Solubilizing/stabilizing cosmeceutical ingredients derived from plants [4] such as lotus seed extract [5], camellia oleifera [6], grape seed extract [7]
- Improving the properties of solid lipid nanoparticles used as skin delivery systems for natural antioxidants such as resveratrol by using tetradecyl BCD [8]
